AES’s Carbon-Based Energy Projects

AES owns, operates or is building 29 power plants that generate tons of carbon and methane annually.  In order to reach the Paris Agreement’s goal of a net-zero future by 2050 AES needs to transition their carbon-based power fleet to renewables by setting a retirement date assigned to each carbon generating unit. Independent research concludes that AES is not on track to meet Paris climate goals.
